| The GENOMED Silica Membranes are non-charged materials that bind nucleic acids within defined parameters. Over the last years, Genomed has developed a number of different silica membranes, which solve individual problems of DNA binding and purification. The silica membranes were designed for use in spin cups or columns and microplates for high-throughput procedures. |

| The procedure to purify DNA always follows a simple and convenient "bind-wash-elute" procedure. DNA is bound to the silica membrane in the presence of high salt. Proteins, polysaccharides, dyes (if present) and other impurities are not adsorbed. After a wash step, pure DNA is eluted in a small volume of TE buffer or water. All GENOMED products containing silica membranes follow this simple and convenient procedure. | |||
