DNA from Tissue (Mini)

JETQUICK Tissue

JETFLEX Genomic

Genomed has developed two different kits to extract and purify genomic DNA from solid tissue samples. With both kits the DNA is set free by an enzymatic digest of the material with proteinase K and detergent. In the following steps of the JETQUICK Tissue DNA Purification Kit a spin cup procedure is used, whereas the JETFLEX Tissue DNA Purification Kit follows a procedure without any binding matrix.

JETQUICK Tissue DNA Purification Kit:
The kit purifies genomic DNA from solid tissue samples, like liver, brain, kidney etc. The DNA in the solid tissue samples is set free by an enzymatic digestion of the material with proteinase K. The lysate is then mixed with detergent and chaotropic salt. The mixture is directly applied onto a JETQUICK micro spin column.
The chaotropic salt facilitates selective binding of the DNA to the highly specified silica membrane. Two subsequent washes remove residual contaminants (proteins, metabolites, dyes etc.). The purified DNA is eluted in TE buffer or water

JETFLEX Genomic DNA Purification Kit:
The kit offers a quick and very simple solution for the purification of genomic DNA from solid tissue samples. The DNA extraction is performed solely by aqueous solutions. Cells are lysed by a combination of proteinase K and detergent. Then proteins are selectively removed by a specially designed precipitation buffer.
Finally, the genomic DNA is precipitated from the supernatant with isopropanol, washed and dried. The dry DNA pellet is redissolved in TE buffer or water.
