The 123bp DNA ladder (Gibco BRL) was contaminated by adding an excessive amount of a 40nt single-stranded oligomer. The figure shows the contaminated 123bp DNA ladder before (left lane) and after its purification by using the JETPURE PCR Product Purification Kit (right lane). The bands of the length standard are "smiling" because of the very large amount of contaminating oligonucleotides.
