| JETWAY DNA Size Markers | |
| The JETWAY product line consists of a number
of very useful DNA size markers for research use. All JETWAY DNA size
markers are showing the following quality features: The plasmids being the origin of the DNA size markers are propagated in nuclease-depleted E. coli strains. Restriction enzymes used for the preparation of the DNA size markers are of the highest quality with nearly undetectable nuclease content. This ensures a maximum of functional 5 and/or 3-ends, that can be used for labeling. Nearly undetectable background due to the absence of nucleases. Excellent signal-to-noise ratio. All DNA size markers are deproteinized by a phenol/chloroform extraction and subsequently lyophilized, thus ensuring very high DNA stability even after dissolving of the size markers in loading buffer. DNA bands stable for at least 4 years at 20°C and 1-2 weeks at 37°C. No DNA degradation observed within this time frame. The deproteinisation of the DNA size markers ensures a very precise and reproducible gel pattern even on different gels. Different running behaviour due to still present proteins that were not removed will be prevented. All JETWAY DNA size markers contain only DNA bands with sizes, that are relevant in the lab. DNA bands with extraordinary high molecular weights, that are not useful for most experiments, but nonetheless present in many other commercialy available DNA markers, are avoided in the JETWAY product line. |

| Type of marker: Number of fragments: Fragment sizes (in bp): |
100 bp ladder (equimolar); (EcoRI fragments
of various plasmids) 11 1000, 900, 800, 700, 600, 500 (2x), 400, 300, 200, 150, 100 |
| Application range:
|
-Suitable for general analysis of DNA fragments and PCR products -All fragments have EcoRI-ends, thus allowing very easy and uniform labeling -JETWAY 1000 is an equimolar DNA size marker, which means, that the number of moles of all DNA bands is identical. This leads to a stronger appearance of the DNA bands with higher molecular weight on the gel. A longer gel run is necessary to fully separate all DNA bands. -Typically 0.6 1.0 ΅g of this marker should be applied per lane on an analytical gel. |

| JETWAY 1011: | |
| Type of marker: Number of fragments: Fragment sizes (in bp): |
100 bp ladder (equalized); (EcoRI fragments
of various plasmids) 11 1000, 900, 800, 700, 600, 500 (2x), 400, 300, 200, 150, 100 |
| Application range:
|
-Suitable for general analysis of DNA fragments and PCR products -All fragments have EcoRI-ends, thus allowing a very easy labeling. As the smaller DNA bands are present with higher masses, their appearance when labeled will be much stronger. -JETWAY 1011 is an equalized DNA size marker, which means, that all bands will appear on a gel with nearly identical intensity. To achieve this homegeneous appearance of all bands on the gel, the JETWAY 1011 marker contains e.g. six times the amount of the 100 bp band compared to the JETWAY 1000 (equimolar) marker. -Due to the homogeneous appearance of all bands only 0.25 ΅g of the equalized JETWAY 1011 marker are to be used per lane. This is just 1/3 1/4 in comparison to the JETWAY 1000 (equimolar) marker. |
